Measures 8.5" wide by 6.5" tall, including tail and crown. My Little Peahen sits upon a beautiful primitive Strawberry, made from our hand-dyed velvet. Her striking blue wings are made from antique Lindsey Woolsey, from the Civil War era. A fabric that is very rare and difficult to find. Antique indigo fabric patches can be found on her, as well.
Her chest and tail are made using current cotton fabrics. Her crown is fashioned from antique, handmade cotton lace ribbon. An antique faux pearl button, stitched to a piece of our hand-dyed ribbon, has been attached to her neck, for an added splash of color.
She is completely hand stitched, made from hand-dyed linen, stuffed with wool clippings. The Strawberry is filled with crushed walnut shells, which are a natural sharpener for your pins, should you decide to use her for a pincushion. She also makes a beautiful decorative piece for your home.
She is a wonderful folky little peahen, indeed.
